THE FUTURES OF THE FUTURE - DAY 1

'Felt Futures' presented by Stuart Candy.
The experiential ladder

Stuart Candy. Associate Professor, School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University. Stuart is also an artist and designer whose work has been shown in several museums and festivals. He has done consultancy work too for private and public organizations.

This first morning seminar looked at some basic futures concepts and Experiential Futures, innovative design and related approaches that make futures understandable, palatable or attractive, more so than long textual descriptions or analyses generally do.

The presentation was divided into three main acts:

  1. Where do you stand?
  2. Three dimensions of foresight
  3. The thing from the future
